Kerntechnische Entsorgung Karlsruhe (KTE)

New way of working in more open spaces

With 650 employees, KTE is taking care of the dismantling and disposal of the decommissioned nuclear installations at the KIT Campus Nord site. A new spatial concept was to be found for Building 530. In workshops, the project team developed the basics for the new way of working in more open spaces, naturally taking into account the existing building structure. The aim was to strengthen the cooperation between the employees in team offices and to create additional retreat areas as well as areas for spontaneous and planned meetings.

When selecting the furniture, particular emphasis was placed on ergonomics and functionality. The Ology height-adjustable desk by Steelcase and the Please office swivel chair impressed the users with their quality. In the retreat zones, Coalesse’s Lagunitas lounge seating enable concentrated work to be carried out and discussions to take place. fecofix glass elements in combination with fecotür and fecowand provide the suitable room layout, acoustic effectiveness and transparency.
